Reining Canada News

Dear Friends,
I hope this note finds you well. I am writing on behalf of Equine
Canada, the national governing body for equestrianism, to invite you to
cheer on our Canadian Equestrian Team as they ride into competition at
the
Olympics and Paralympics.
You can subscribe to Equine Canada's e-newsletter for up-to-the-
moment news of team developments and results at
http://equinecanada.ca/enews.php .
You can also view an account of our horses, riders, and their
disciplines at
http://equinecanada.ca/cet.php .
Finally, you can now read a full online edition of HorseLife, our
official national magazine, at
http://equinecanada.ca/horselife.php.
The 2008 contingent is undoubtedly one of the strongest Canadian
Equestrian Teams we have ever sent to the Summer Games, and we have
great
hopes for the medal podium. Nevertheless, we are proudest that our team
takes to the field of competition riding first and foremost for our
country's honor.
I hope you will join us in supporting our equestrian athletes at
the
Olympics and Paralympics, and in encouraging them on to victory.
With best wishes,
Akaash Maharaj

20 COUNTRIES EXPECTED
FOR 2008 FEI WORLD
REINING CHAMPIONSHIP
September 11-14,
2008 in Manerbio, Italy
Teams and individuals from these
countries are to compete in the inaugural World Championships, a
brand new event hosted by the FEI. In the past, a World Reining
Championship only has been offered during the FEI World Equestrian
Games (WEG) which is held every four years, two years prior to the
Olympic games. This year, international reiners will compete for the
prestigious World Championship gold, silver and bronze FEI medals
outside of the WEG at their stand-alone reining event. on. For the
first time ever in the history of equestrian sports, the FEI
welcomed Team and Individual Reining Competition to the 2002 FEI
World Equestrian Games.
Congratulations to
WCRA member Amanda Self who will be competing in Italy as a member
of Team Canada!

Please
consider taking part in the "buy a mile" fundraiser to help offset
